Majestic Water

On Omaria (from the book Omaria, The Night Travellers) water has special powers. I discovered this during the writing process (that's what happens with intuitive writing ;-) and the magic of it blew me away. It turns out, after stumbling upon a few studies, that reality isn't all that far off — at least if I'm to believe certain experts. A great deal of research has already been done, but it remains uncharted territory and to this day no one can quite put their finger on the 'ordinary' stuff that just falls from the sky, streams down a mountain or sits in your drinking glass.

When I was researching water a few years ago, and particularly the quality of good drinking water, I came across a woman who (I hope I'm not exaggerating) had placed a total of 20,000 petri dishes with a thin layer of water on specific images over the years, and then put them in the freezer. One by one, after being taken out some time later, each produced an abstract image in the ice. What could now be seen in the frozen water appeared to be a hazy memory of the image that had been placed underneath, time after time. She concluded that water had memory. Many years earlier, Masaru Emoto had conducted similar research with ice and discovered that beautiful thoughts and words such as love and happiness produced symmetrical and stunning crystals, while thoughts like hatred and frustration showed disturbed and asymmetrical crystals.

Viktor Schauberger (1885–1958) was an Austrian forester who spent his entire life in the Alps, observing water with an intensity that baffled scientists and engineers. He had no academic training but developed theories about water that are still being discussed, disputed and rediscovered to this day. He wrote a book about it: 'The Water Wizard', in which this 'water memory' was also referenced. For him, the experience of water was also vital to its vitality and its subsequent healing effect on the person who drinks it, swims in it, or follows the tide on the beach as a kind of meditation.

The image above, 'Majestic Water', was created during the time I was writing Omaria and is inspired by the water that occupies such a memorable place in the book. A short passage to illustrate.

(…) “Her cheerfulness becomes slightly more subdued once out of the water, but the gratitude she feels and the bliss remain present in her body and mind. The water drips from her in drops that form a soft, melodious rhythm on the deck. Toran climbs out too and is still grinning. What an extraordinary experience! Sinne realises this must be another Omaria mystery. In this world, everything seems to respond to what you feel inside. Perhaps the water takes what you already carry within and whispers it back, louder than before. A silent undercurrent that suddenly becomes audible. She has to laugh again. Around them the water colours a deeper blue, the tint seeping into the air above, merging with the atmosphere. As blue as the sky is, so it is in her head. She can't grasp anything in her mind. No thought lingers long enough to give it meaning.” (…)

My father was quite confused towards the end of his life, but what he described time and again, when he had been in his thoughts, was water. Water that seemed to be all around him and to which he had given a meaning that can only be called mystical. Combined with everything I've since read about water and the intuitive form it took in my book, it has all contributed to the fact that I no longer take water for granted. You can programme it, after all, and why wouldn't you? Every so often I speak to my water the way I speak to my flowers and plants. I say things like: 'Thank you for having such a cleansing effect on my body and soul' or I simply say 'thank you' or 'I love you'. Yes, you may call me a nutter, but if it doesn't help it certainly doesn't hurt either, and I've seen and read enough not to deny the magic of water. We as humans are made up of roughly 60 to 70% water. I like to think that this water can make or break you. And if my spoken-to water passes the message on to its family once it has joined them inside me, then that can only contribute to my good health, don't you think? I'm willing to put it to the test.
